The Making of "Bridger"

Back in 1974, I bought a Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic F camera. I lived on the edge of town in Bozeman, Montana. It was only a 15 minute drive up to the Bridger Bowl ski area in the Bridger range. I had a season pass and went skiing several times a week. I stopped off to take a few photos with my new camera one day. The photo of the house was off to the right (east) of the road. The photo of the mountain was off to the left. This is a typical look of these mountains - they get a lot of powder snow and the winds blow this snow around.

Anyway, this is just a bit of practice using the clone brush. I moved the house to the other side of the road. The lighting's all wrong, of course - the sun should be shining on the mountain and the lighting on the trees is obviously different from the lighting on the house. I'll bet a lot of people wouldn't even notice that. Still, I should have mirrored the house image before doing the clone. When you see a photo in a magazine that has little mistakes like this, you can be sure someone has been fooling around with it!

The Making of "Something Different"

For "something different," I again used my dodge method. One used erode, followed by some playing with the hue map. The other used pink hot wax.
