I just got a new toy - a slide scanner. So I've been scanning some of my old slides.
The top one was taken just outside the booming metropolis of Big Sandy, Montana somewhere around 1976.
The bottom one was taken outside of Churchhill, Montana in the winter of 1974.
Our assignment was to experiment with blend modes and flood fills. With a giant leap of
imagination, I pictured the top of the Churchhill image as forming the sky for the Big Sandy photo.

I created a 2-layer image with Big Sandy on the bottom and Churchhill on top. I used a blend mode
of "darken." It was already almost perfect, and I just had to do a little minor touchup with the
clone and smudge brushes.

I created this sunburst image to experiment with flood fills.
This one used hard light at opacity 100.
Dodge, opacity 50. Nuclear blast!
Burn, opacity 100.
