The Making of "Daniele"

I started with this photo:

Here I've cropped it.

Then, I softened the background. Perhaps I overdid it a little.

To finish up, I made a feathered selection around Daniele, inverted the selection, and applied BladePro, and then applied wind to the BladePro area. Then I selected the entire image, contracted the selection by 10 pixels and inverted the selection, which selected a 10-pixel area around the entire image. I used BladePro on this area to create the frame around the image.

Funny - I could have sworn I saw Daniele at Mammoth Hot Springs. Musta been my imagination.
